Overview

An Antigua and Barbuda passport renewal is for someone who already holds that passport and needs a new one. An expired passport can usually still be renewed. If the passport was lost, stolen, or damaged, the request is a replacement, which often has its own steps.

We check your file against the official requirements, prepare the forms and the photo, and follow the application through with the issuing authority or the consulate. If the authority wants you in person for biometrics or collection, we tell you before you book travel.

How renewal works in Antigua and Barbuda

These points come from the Antigua and Barbuda Immigration Department's passport page:

  • Passports are issued under the Immigration and Passport Act, 2014, by the Passport Office on Queen Elizabeth Highway.
  • Each applicant is required to visit the Passport Office to submit the application. The form is completed, taken to a certifying official, and then presented with the supporting documents.
  • Applicants submit proof of citizenship to a Passport Officer.
  • Processing takes about three weeks. Emergency processing is available for renewals, in three to five business days at an extra cost.
  • Adult passports (over 16) are valid for ten years; minor passports for five years.
  • A passport reported lost or stolen cannot be revalidated or used to apply for a renewal. Replacements need a police report and an Immigration interview, and the investigation takes about three months.

Requirements and fees change, so we check the official source again before your file goes in.

Renewal or replacement?

  • Renewal. Your passport is valid, about to expire, or expired, and you still have it.
  • Replacement. The passport was lost, stolen, or damaged. Expect a police report or a sworn declaration, and sometimes a longer wait.
  • Change of details. If your name or other details changed, the authority usually wants the supporting civil documents first.

Why applications get delayed

  • A photo that does not meet the size, background, or expression rules
  • Missing or uncertified supporting documents
  • Details that do not match across your passport, ID, and civil records
  • Applying through the wrong office or mission for where you live
  • A lost passport reported as renewed instead of replaced

We check each of these before the application goes in.

Fees

Price on request

You receive a quote before any filing starts. It separates the CitizenX fee from government charges, courier costs, and legalisation. Those extras are added only when they apply, and only after you approve them.

Government fees change, so we confirm them with the issuing authority or consulate for your case before you sign.

Government and third-party charges are confirmed in the quote when they apply.

Questions

Usually yes. An expired Antigua and Barbuda passport can normally be renewed. A lost, stolen, or damaged passport is handled as a replacement.

The Immigration Department says each applicant must visit the Passport Office to submit the application. We confirm the current route for your location before you book travel.

From the official source linked on this page: the Antigua and Barbuda Immigration Department's passport page. We check it again before filing because requirements and fees change.

You approve the quote before we file. Government and courier charges are listed on their own when they apply.
