Overview

This service adds a grandparent to an existing São Tomé and Príncipe citizenship. The authority usually wants the two birth records that connect the grandparent to the citizen: the parent’s, and the citizen’s.

We assemble that chain, lodge the file, and follow it until the grandparent is added or the authority asks for more.

What's included

  • A check of the birth records that link the three generations
  • Filing the addition with the São Tomé and Príncipe authority
  • Follow-up until the grandparent is added
  • A note on a later passport application

Documents

What to send

Birth certificate

The birth records that connect you, your parent, and your grandparent.

Passport

Passport-style photo

A photo of the grandparent, if the authority asks for one.

Process

  1. Send both birth records and passport scans for the citizen and the grandparent.
  2. We prepare the addition and send the quote.
  3. The file is lodged.
  4. We confirm once the grandparent is on the record.

Fees

Price on request

You receive a quote before any filing starts. It separates the CitizenX fee from government charges, courier costs, and legalization. Those extras are added only when they apply, and only after you approve them.

Government and third-party charges are confirmed in the quote when they apply.

Questions

Send what you have. We will tell you whether the authority can accept another paper in its place.

Usually no. We say so if the authority wants biometrics in person.

You approve the quote before the addition is filed.
