Vanuatu
Overview
This service covers a Vanuatu marriage certificate. We work out which route and forms apply, prepare the papers with you, file them with the right office, and follow the request until the document is issued.
How it works in Vanuatu
These points come from CRIM's Registration of Marriages page:
- CRIM registers civil, custom, religious and virtual marriages. A marriage must be registered within 30 days to count as on time, and the first registration is free for citizens.
- Citizens married outside Vanuatu must update their marital status with CRIM within 30 days, using the registration form, birth certificates or Vanuatu IDs for the couple and witnesses, and the original marriage certificate.
- After registration CRIM issues the marriage certificate and an updated Vanuatu ID to match any change of name.
Rules and fees change, so we check the official source again before your application goes in.
Before you start
- Match your names. The spelling should be the same on your passport, birth record, and any citizenship certificate.
- Collect the originals. Most offices want originals or certified copies, and some want translations.
- Plan for in-person steps. Some offices take photos, fingerprints, or signatures themselves.
- Tell us the destination. If the document will be used abroad, it may also need an apostille.
Why requests get delayed
- Names or dates that differ between documents
- A birth, marriage, or citizenship record that is not yet in the register
- Missing translations or certified copies
- Fees paid to the wrong account
- Photos that do not meet the office's rules
We check each of these before anything is filed.

Fees
Price on request
You receive a quote before any filing starts. It separates the CitizenX fee from government charges, translations, and courier costs. Those extras are added only when they apply, and only after you approve them.
Government fees change, so we confirm them with the issuing authority for your case before you sign.
Government and third-party charges are confirmed in the quote when they apply.
Questions
CRIM asks citizens married overseas to register the marriage within 30 days, with the original marriage certificate.
From the official sources linked on this page. We check them again before filing because rules and fees change.
Not always. We tell you before anything is filed if a step must be done in person.
You approve the quote before we file. Government fees, translations, and courier charges are listed on their own when they apply.
