Overview

This service covers replacing an older non-biometric Vanuatu passport. We work out which route and forms apply, prepare the papers with you, file them with the right office, and follow the request until the document is issued.

How it works in Vanuatu

These points come from Vanuatu Immigration's passports page, Vanuatu Immigration's passport forms and enrolment page, the Citizenship Office passport FAQ:

  • Passport applications are lodged at the Vanuatu Immigration office in the Tamarama Building, Port Vila, or at the provincial offices in Santo, Ambae and Tanna.
  • Vanuatu Immigration lists VT 20,000 for an adult passport within 3 days, VT 30,000 for urgent issue within 1 day, and VT 10,000 for children and for applicants aged 66 and over.
  • Applicants bring their Vanuatu National ID and Vanuatu birth certificate. Naturalised citizens add the citizenship certificate and a copy of the passport from their country of origin, and married women add the marriage certificate.
  • The previous travel document is attached unless it was lost, damaged or stolen, and any earlier names must be declared.
  • You bring two identical passport photos under 6 months old, and an identity witness signs and dates one of them.
  • Applicants under 18 need a parent or legal guardian to complete the consent and sign the declaration.

Rules and fees change, so we check the official source again before your application goes in.

Before you start

  • Match your names. The spelling should be the same on your passport, birth record, and any citizenship certificate.
  • Collect the originals. Most offices want originals or certified copies, and some want translations.
  • Plan for in-person steps. Some offices take photos, fingerprints, or signatures themselves.
  • Tell us the destination. If the document will be used abroad, it may also need an apostille.

Why requests get delayed

  • Names or dates that differ between documents
  • A birth, marriage, or citizenship record that is not yet in the register
  • Missing translations or certified copies
  • Fees paid to the wrong account
  • Photos that do not meet the office's rules

We check each of these before anything is filed.

Fees

Price on request

You receive a quote before any filing starts. It separates the CitizenX fee from government charges, translations, and courier costs. Those extras are added only when they apply, and only after you approve them.

Government fees change, so we confirm them with the issuing authority for your case before you sign.

Government and third-party charges are confirmed in the quote when they apply.

Questions

It stays valid until its printed expiry date. A new passport is a new application, not a renewal in the same book.

From the official sources linked on this page. We check them again before filing because rules and fees change.

Not always. We tell you before anything is filed if a step must be done in person.

You approve the quote before we file. Government fees, translations, and courier charges are listed on their own when they apply.
