National ID Card in Türkiye

The Türkiye T.C. identity card (kimlik kartı) is the main identity document for citizens at home. It is often needed to open accounts, sign contracts, vote, or renew other documents. We prepare the application, book the appointment, and follow the card until it is ready.

How it works in Türkiye

These points come from the NVİ identity card FAQ:

• You apply by appointment, at a civil registry office (nüfus müdürlüğü) in Türkiye or at a Turkish mission abroad. Appointments are made at randevu.nvi.gov.tr, by phone (Alo 199), through e-Devlet, or in the NVİ mobile app.
• You need a valid photo ID, such as an old identity booklet, card, passport, or driving licence, and one biometric photo taken within the last six months for applicants aged 15 and over.
• You also pay the card fee set by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance before applying.
• Cards are issued for birth, replacement, loss, re-registration, and acquisition of citizenship.

Before you apply

• Plan for an in-person step. Most authorities take fingerprints, a photo, or a signature themselves.
• Check your names. The spelling should match your passport, birth record, and any naturalisation certificate.
• Have your citizenship evidence ready. New citizens may need the certificate or registration record before the card can be issued.

Why applications get delayed

• Names or dates that differ between documents
• A birth or citizenship record that is not yet in the civil registry
• Missing proof of a name change or marriage
• Photos that do not meet the authority's rules
• Fees paid to the wrong account or for the wrong year
