Jordan
Overview
A Jordan company incorporation sets up a company under local law, with its constitutional documents, its directors and shareholders on the record, and a registered address. Companies are formed under the Companies Law No. 22 of 1997 and registered with the Companies Control Department (CCD) of the Ministry of Industry. Incorporation does not by itself open a bank account, register the company for every tax, or give you residence. We tell you which of those steps should follow.
We confirm the company name, the people who will be on the record, and the activity, prepare the incorporation papers, and lodge them with the registry. In most cases you do not need to travel.
Which company type fits
The usual vehicle is a limited liability company, the usual choice for foreign investors. The right choice depends on what the company will do, where it will trade, who owns it, and whether it needs to hold property or a licence. We set out the options for your plan before anything is filed.
What the registry checks
The registry checks that the name is available and not misleading, that the constitutional documents follow the law, and that the directors, shareholders, and registered address are properly identified. Like banks, registries and the professionals who file for you must identify the company's beneficial owners, so expect to show who ultimately owns and controls the company.
Local points to know
Limited liability companies are registered online only, and you propose up to five names. Some activities need prior approvals, and some nationalities need a security approval before registration is completed, so we check this for your case first.
After incorporation
- Bank account. Banks ask for the certified incorporation documents, the registers of directors and shareholders, and identification for every director, signatory, and beneficial owner. See our Jordan bank account opening service.
- Tax and licences. Depending on the activity, the company may need tax registration, a trade licence, or sector approval before it starts trading.
- Ongoing filings. Most registries expect annual returns or similar filings and an up-to-date record of directors, shareholders, and the registered address. Missing them can lead to penalties or the company being struck off.
Why filings get delayed
- A proposed name that is too close to an existing company
- Passport or address documents that are expired, unclear, or not certified the way the registry wants
- Unclear ownership, or missing details on the beneficial owners
- Foreign documents without the translation or apostille the registry requires
- An activity that needs a licence or approval before registration
We check each of these before the filing goes in.

Fees
Price on request
You receive a quote before any filing starts. It separates the CitizenX fee from registry charges, notarisation, apostille, translation, and courier costs. Those extras are added only when they apply, and only after you approve them.
Registry fees and any minimum share capital depend on the company type, so we confirm them with the registry for your company before you sign.
Government and third-party charges are confirmed in the quote when they apply.
